Fresno, CA —The Central California Blood Center is urgently calling on all individuals with O-negative blood type to donate immediately. Supplies have reached critically low levels, threatening the ability to respond to emergencies across the region.
O-negative blood is known as the universal blood type, meaning it can be safely given to patients of any blood type. It is essential in trauma situations, emergency care, and for newborn babies, where there is no time to determine a patient’s blood type.
Donors with O-negative blood are especially needed to come in Saturday, April 17 or Monday, April 20.
