What to Expect

swoosh background

From the moment you arrive to the time you head out, our team is here to make your donation experience safe, comfortable, and rewarding. With an appointment, the entire process typically takes 45 – 60 minutes for a whole blood donation.

QuickPass Health Questionnaire

To make your visit faster and easier, we offer QuickPass, our online confidential health questionnaire. Donors can complete their health questions remotely, before they come in for their appointment. QuickPass is only acceptable the same day you donate.

Start QuickPass

Once finished, make sure to screenshot or print your QR code and bring it to your appointment. If you’re unable to complete QuickPass ahead of time, you can still complete the questionnaire on-site.

Check-In

When you arrive, please have your scheduled appointment, a valid photo ID, and your QuickPass QR code ready. Our staff will greet you, confirm your information, and help you get checked in for your donation.

Individuals who are 16 and 17 years old will need a Parent Consent Form before donating.

Mini Physical

A staff member will review your health history, check your pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and hemoglobin levels (via a quick finger prick) to ensure it is safe for you to donate.

The Donation

Afterwards, you’ll be guided to a comfortable donation chair. A trained donor services specialist will be with you throughout the donation, which typically takes 10-15 minutes or less for whole blood donations.

Refreshments and Recovery

After donating, head to our canteen to relax for a few minutes and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks. This allows your body to recover before leaving.

After You Leave

You can return to most normal activities the same day, but please avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours. Drinking extra fluids and taking it easy will help you feel your best. Most importantly, you’ll leave knowing you’ve helped save lives in your community.
